  • Use the bridge as a way for the students to test the tension on their harp. The string behind the bridge is all the same length-if they are the same tension, that length of the string should all be the same pitch. This is a way to control the variable of tension in the fair test.
  • Also, the frequency of the vibrations is easier to see with the bridge under the strings. This is important when preparing students for the C-E-R for this lesson. Make sure to guide students to look at the vibrations of the different lengths of strings and gather data about what they see.
